Privacy Policy

In effect October 1, 2026 · version 2026-10

Updated October 10, 2026: one-person-at-a-time suggestions, choices after a meeting, website providers, access link, confirmation reminder, sign-in by email, relationship types (long term, short term) each with its own criteria, and profile verification by our team; removed for the beta: the prepared profile in “My space”, events, partners, medals and plans.

This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the French version, the French version prevails.

Meet First exists so people can meet for real. To do that, we need some information about you. This policy explains which information, why, who sees it, how long we keep it and how you stay in control. It follows Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and the federal law (PIPEDA).

In short: no advertising, no sale of your data, no sharing for commercial purposes. Your location is only read when you post an availability and when you confirm your arrival. You can download your data and delete your account at any time, from the app.

1. Who is responsible

Meet First is operated by 9577-4618 Québec inc. (NEQ 1182628116), 101-1215, rue Shefford, Bromont (Québec) J2L 1C5, Canada.

The person in charge of the protection of personal information is the company's president. For any question or request: [email protected].

What you give us

What the app records when you use it

When you visit the meet-first.app website: Cloudflare, which hosts the website, receives your network address (IP address) and the pages requested, to send them to you and protect the website against attacks. We measure the website's audience with Cloudflare Web Analytics, with no cookies and without following you from one visit to the next: we only see the number of visits and page views, in aggregate. If you arrive through an invitation link, its code is kept in your browser for your visit only, and it is deleted when you close the tab. It is used to link your sign-up to the person who invited you.

5. What other members see

6. Automated decisions

The person suggested to you, the place, the time and your reliability are chosen or calculated automatically, from your criteria for each relationship type you are looking for, the other person's criteria, your availabilities, distance, attendance and punctuality at dates, ratings received and suggestions passed on (a person who was passed on is not suggested to either of you for 30 days for the relationship type(s) of that suggestion). If you both chose “Crush”, the app suggests activities and places you have not yet had together. When it makes a suggestion, the app tells you it was made automatically. You can ask us which information was used, the reasons for the decision, and ask for a person on our team to review it.

7. Who else has access

We do not sell or rent your information, and there is no advertising in Meet First. Only the following have access, as far as needed:

8. Where your information is

Our database is hosted in Canada (Montréal). Some providers (website, email, text messages, notifications, app stores) may process it outside Québec or Canada. Before sharing information with them, we assess the privacy factors and ensure adequate protection by contract.
